Add tracking in four steps
For custom websites and HTML editors.
-
Get your tracking code
Open your installation page and copy the complete code for the website you want to track. Sign in if asked. If you are new to Web-Stat, create a free account first.

Add it to your site's HTML
Paste the code once inside your site's <head> section, before </head>. Use a shared template or site-wide code area to include it on every page. If you edit pages individually, add it to each page you want to track.
Placement example — use your own tracking code<head> <title>Your page title</title> ... <!-- Paste your tracking code here --> </head> -
Save and publish your changes
Save your template or pages, then publish or upload them to your live website. If your site uses a page cache, clear it so visitors receive the updated pages.
Before you check your reports
- Include the code on every page you want to track
- Install it once per page
- Publish the updated pages to your live site
-
Check your first visit
Open your live website and browse a few pages. Then open Live Visitors to check that your visit appears. If you have excluded your own visits, test from another device or connection that is not excluded.
Voir les visiteurs en directCheck the published website
Use your public website address to test the installation. An editor preview or a file opened from your computer may not behave like the live site.
Using a website builder or a tag manager?
Use the dedicated guide for your platform, or look for a site-wide Custom code or Head code area in your editor. Choose an area that accepts JavaScript and applies to all pages.
Your next visitor is a good place to start.
Once the code is published, Web-Stat can record new visits. Open your live reports to see them arrive, or contact us if you would like help checking the installation.
